"Golden on the pour, the nose is richly scented with classic apples and pears wrapped around a lemon rind core, kissed by butter and baking spice. The finish is delicately presented and persists with incredible length, with clean minerality dispersing florals and citrus before settling into a classic California umami of butter, brioche, and toast."
Lot 442 | 2023 Mokelumne River Pinot Gris
"Pear, apple, and peach define a nose nestled in crushed gravel, kissed by honey. The entry is expertly weighted and framed by medium+ acidity, showcasing further apple and pear with raw ginger spice and lemon zest. The finish is clean and medium length, with the ginger spice brushed by lemon blossom umami. Come spring and summer, it will pair perfectly with grilled fish or chilled oysters."

"Opens with an expressive nose of spiced pear and lemon zest backed by apple, honeysuckle, and a delicately herbed halo. The entry is mildly creamy, contrasted by bright acidity with clean, wet stone minerality that leads to an uplifted and dynamic finish of apricot, honeydew melon, and resonant white florals that carry on with good length."

"Expressive nose of tangerine and white peach, interwoven with honeysuckle and yellow rose petals. On the palate, this wine is mouthwatering with vibrant acidity and supernova notes of mango, beeswax, and white florals leading into a kiss of spice. The finish is long, round, and beautiful, with toast and additional spice leading into uplifted peach resonance."
Lot 434 | 2022 Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir
"The wine opens with a captivating bouquet that seamlessly interweaves cherries, cola, cinnamon, and clove. Hints of brown sugar and truffle lend an air of refinement, haloed by potting soil and tobacco leaf. The palate is lively, showing a medium+ cranberry-like acidity and small, grippy, perfectly integrated tannins framing additional cherries and wild blueberry. The exit is vanilla-flecked with refined cooperage barrel spice, with a delicate interplay of cherry and mushroom umami underscored by the lingering presence of fresh-sliced vanilla beans. A beautiful showcase of the artistry of its makers."
Lot 355 | 2021 McLaren Vale Shiraz
"Deep, tooth-staining purple on the pour, the bouquet is vibrant with delineated blueberry and plum accentuated by dried orange peel, cocoa, and pipe tobacco with underlying sassafras and fresh-picked bay leaf. The entry is silky, yet still youthful, playing up the the fruits in the forefront, quickly wrapping them in dark chocolate and tobacco leaf before a meaty, peppery spice takes over showing fine, mineral-laden tannins framed by medium acidity. Mouthwatering into the dry finish, almost glycerine-like, cocoa bean and black pepper umami rises up from the depths through a medium-length exit. Still a baby, a healthy decant is recommended today, but, lay some down to see the real potential with this bottle through 2031."
