2017 Napa Valley Zinfandel

Deep garnet with crimson rim in the glass. Beautifully aromatic with dark fruit cake, soft raspberry and graham cracker layered with foothill spices of anise and sage with molten brown sugar and walnut husk halo. Elegant and refined on the palate with mouth watering candied raspberry evolving into contrasting tones of savory toasted graham cracker, dark clay earth, and fennel spice. Smooth as silk on the palate with layers of fruit, spice and earth lingering on the finish. Excellent complexity and structure. - it is remarkably fresh as well given its age, which speaks to the high standards of care in the winery.
