Wine Details & Tasting Notes

This fantastic Zinfandel come to us from an estate, hillside vineyard carved into the cliffs above the the Wooden Valley, a Napa Valley sub-appellation east of the town of Napa. The producer is a Yountville stalwart and this Zinfandel is a component of a $30+ red blend and a $40+ Zinfandel bottling. Its absolutely delicious as a stand-alone and, if you have any appreciation for Zinfandel, I can virtually guarantee you will be blown away by this bottling..

Bottled July 12th, the wine was stored in the same facility in which we bottle. Because of its age and the fact we didn't have to move it, its barely shocked and quite pleasing to partake of now.

Deep garnet with crimson rim in the glass. Beautifully aromatic with dark fruit cake, soft raspberry and graham cracker layered with foothill spices of anise and sage with molten brown sugar and walnut husk halo. Elegant and refined on the palate with mouth watering candied raspberry evolving into contrasting tones of savory toasted graham cracker, dark clay earth, and fennel spice. Smooth as silk on the palate with layers of fruit, spice and earth lingering on the finish. Excellent complexity and structure. - it is remarkably fresh as well given its age, which speaks to the high standards of care in the winery.
