Oh man, I'm in love. This gorgeous, textbook Napa Carneros Pinot Noir comes to us from one of the pioneers of not just Napa Carneros, but the larger Napa Valley region. If you are a Pinot Noir fan, I am confident this wine's effortless finesse will have broad appeal. It is faaantastic, ya just gotta trust me!
Priced at $50/bottle out of the tasting room with 91- and 93-point scores from a couple of the "big four" reviewers (wish I could name who scored what but these folks are quite protective), it's a fantastic offer at just $20/bottle. This is the same wine the winery bottled, they just had more than they could use.
Dark garnet in the glass. Beautifully expressive nose with well-delineated strawberry and black cherry fruit accented by lilac, sweet plums, and earthy black tea and a kiss of sandalwood from the medium-toast French oak. Tons of verve here aromatically. The entry is supple and seamless with ripe red and black fruits amply supported by fresh, vibrant, mineral-driven acidity that leads to a beautiful, perfectly-balanced finish. This is fantastic Pinot Noir, deftly-made with an crystalline effortlessness that makes it nearly impossible to drink just one glass. Grabs the case folks, you won't regret it. Only 400 cases available!
